The Ajax's Future

A lot of things have been going on in the last week. BF fell to pieces, a new group started, and I've been conflicted in the whole situation. I have a lot of friends within the new group and I will admit I had considered joining for a little while. I've been a member of their forums for a while, and I even said I would join and help them out. But....... within all that, I've had reservations.
As a gamer and a game master, I always preferred to keep my sims within large groups to use their resources to my games advantage. However, no matter how much I'd like to, I keep returning my mind back to being independent.
I never wanted the politics of any individual Fleet to effect the Ajax, and I am still dedicated to that. People can play however they want, and large groups have their place, but for me I prefer to keep the politics away from the games I run. Unfortunately, when I joined the BFA a few months ago, I failed in doing that. I am now going to rectify that. Therefore, I wanted to announce officially that although the Ajax will still be friendly will all fleets, I have decided not to affiliate it with any. Instead, Ive decided to keep it a member of one affiliation. My own.
I have decided to run the Ajax under the Alternate Realms banner, a indy sim group I created last year with Sean. It encompasses all genres, not only Star Trek, but exemplifies the mentality of all groups. Collaboration, friendship, and fair play are major things for me, and I'm not sure any one group can offer us anything more than what we already have. One hell of a great game.
And so, although I plan on remaining friendly with all groups, I will not be adding the Ajax to any specific Fleet at this time. The Ajax will remain under the Alternate Realms banner, a decidedly neutral group focused on all genres but only the games themselves specifically. I'm sorry if this confuses or worries anyone, and if you want to talk about why I'm doing what I'm doing I will be online most of this week unless I'm asleep.
If anyone wants to discuss what is going on or why I chose to do what Ive done, feel free to hit me up. I am taking this weekend to put some things together for the Ajax and, come Monday, I will be focusing on finishing up this mission and getting us rolling again. We've been sitting on this mission for way to long, and I want to get us playing again. Monday I will be doing exactly that.
Cheers!
Matt

As I'm sure you know by now, BF had a massive split and many things have gone into flux. Although I will always love BF and everything that I have worked for within that organization, I am forced to reconsider many things with the recent shift in politics. As much as I wish I could, I cannot support those who forced BF to split, many of whom are now in power once again. It pretty much goes against everything I stand for as a CO, a TFCO, and a person as a whole. Therefore, as those who frequent the forum know, I have decided to step down as TFCO of 72 and stepped away from BF as a whole.
Now, I'm sure some of you are wondering what effect this will have on the Ajax. I am here to tell you now that it does absolutely nothing to the Ajax. The Ajax will carry on as it always has, and nothing will change that. In fact, the only thing that does effect the Ajax in all this is that I now have much much more time to focus where I need to. My beloved sim the Ajax.
If anyone has any questions or concerns I am always available. Ill be online most of today if you want to hit me via IM or I am easily reached by email.
Cheers!
Matt
